What to expect at your first Functional Fitness Competition

Signing up for your first crossfit competition can be a nerve racking thing. We might be afraid of them programming workouts that have exercises we might not be able to do, or just simple not performing as well as you would like to. A lot of things can keep us away from doing your first ever crossfit comp, but it is a fun event that all athletes should partake in!

Crossfit competitions allow you to test your athletic abilities, by showcasing your strengths, and also revealing your weaknesses to the others you are going against. Many different competitions offer different levels for all skill levels to participate in the comp, without having the fear of performing poorly. Competitions can be done as an individual, or with a partner/team to compete alongside, testing everyone’s functional fitness.

The wods are not the same ones you would see in the crossfit games or at the crossfit regionals, but you will be in the same realm as them by doing several different crossfit workouts in the same day, testing not just your body, but your ability to recover physically and mentally for the next event.
