I wanted to make a video discussing some less important fitness decisions that I make that have a small but positive impact on my physique, strength, injury prevention, energy levels, and overall wellbeing.
1 – Obsessively drink water (skin health, cognitive functioning, satiety, and in my estimation way more of a thermic effect than people think).
2 – Macronutrient selection, meal timing, and food choices in the “pre” and “post” workout windows.
3 – For improved sleep quality, I only drink caffeine in the beginning of my day and to avoid waking up during the night I taper off water intake before bedtime.
4 – I eat at least 25g of protein with every meal to maximize muscle protein synthesis, increase satiety, increase the thermic effect of food, and allow me to make silly comments like “I havent consumed a no-protein meal since 1996”
5 – I occasionally modify my training sessions mid-workout by swapping movements, skipping exercises, adding mobility work, or changing the rep scheme so to avoid injury.
Hope you like the video!
Mike
