How To Make A Post Workout Protein Shake FOR MUSCLE GAIN

On this episode of Live Lean TV, I’m showing you how to make a post workout protein shake for muscle gain.

This protein shake recipe is a slight variation on my peanut butter and jelly muscle building protein shake recipe that I showed you a few weeks ago.

Just because you asked for it, this recipe variation is going to have a little less dairy in it, since I’ve removed the greek yogurt.

So if you’re looking to limit dairy, here’s a low dairy post workout shake recipe, that still packs the muscle building and fat burning effects of a protein shake.

Lets test it out and see how this version compares to the original version.

Post Workout Protein Shake FOR MUSCLE GAIN

Peanut Butter and Jelly Protein Shake (without dairy)

Prep Time 1 minute
Cook Time 1 minute

INGREDIENTS
– 1 serving Protein Powder (Ensure you add enough protein powder to hit your post workout protein goals)
– 1/2 cup egg whites (Pasteurized. This replaces the greek yogurt.)
– 1 cup grape juice
– 1 tbsp peanut butter (Go with one ingredient, natural peanut butter or almond butter).
– 1/2 cup frozen raspberries
– 3 large frozen strawberries

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend.

Nutrition Info (makes one serving):
Calories: 490
Protein: 43g
Carbohydrates: 58g
Fat: 9g

This protein shake still smells delicious and tastes exactly the same, without the greek yogurt.

So if you find a recipe online that you like, but there are certain ingredients that you don’t like, or you’re allergic to them, this was a simple example of how to swap ingredients.

For example, if you have dairy intolerances, with this recipe we simply took out the greek yogurt and replaced it with pasteurized egg whites.

Eggs are not dairy.

I have to say that because there are so many people that think eggs come from dairy.

Wrong.

This makes egg whites a safe dairy substitution for greek yogurt as they have similar macronutrient breakdowns.

Egg whites are high in protein and low in carbs and fat just like plain non fat greek yogurt.
