Exercises to strengthen your abs & core muscles without triggering your hip flexors.
Planks are great for working your core and you are not going to be using your hip flexors because you are in a static position and you’re not in hip flexion.
Diving into the deeper issue, any exercise that involves hip flexion which most ab exercises do, it’s important to get in a good position. If your’e in a good brace position then you are going to engage your core muscles.
It could be a crunch, leg raises, extensions. It really doesn’t matter what ab exercise you are doing, if you get yourself in a good position you will use your abs.
