Why are you in the gym? Remember, a goal is measurable and attainable. It’s not an abstract desire like, “get jacked, bro.” Something like, “I’d like to add 50 pounds to my squat in 8 weeks” is much more appropriate.

Choose exercises, sets and reps, intensity strategies to meet your goals. If you want to put on 10 pounds of muscle, doing a 5-3-1 program may not be the best route to get there.
