What’s going on guys! In todays video I’m gonna be going over 4 different types of diets and help you to figure out which one is right for your lifestyle!

When it comes to dieting, it doesn’t matter if you have the absolute “best” diet handed directly to you – but if you don’t enjoy that diet, or it doesn’t work for your lifestyle then it’s not going to work. What matters most is following something that’s sustainable for you long term.

1️⃣Keto Diet – this is basically a diet that’s super high in fats, and where you cut carbs out of your diet. While it has a ton of benefits, you have to cut carbs out completely & for someone like me who loves carbs, it’s just not sustainable.

2️⃣Intermittent Fasting – one of the main benefits of fasting is being able to boost your growth hormone levels, by stretching out how long you’re going without eating you’ll be optimizing how much fat you burn early on. People also say, it helps them with their mental function and higher energy levels. The downside with fasting is you have to go 6-8 hours without eating, and it’s also best for you to workout fasted. Personally, I love eating right when I wake up so if you’re someone who has to eat breakfast then fasting isn’t going to be your thing.

3️⃣Carb Cycling – carb cycling in simple terms means on your high carb days you’ll be intaking high carbs and lower fats, then on lower carb days you’ll do the opposite and have low carbs and high fats. There’s many variations to carb cycling, and it really depends on what you’re following. Carb cycling is great because high carb days allow you to have much higher energy on your lift days. Low carb days will deplete your glycogen stores, and force your body to use fat as energy versus using carbs all the time. Once carb stores are depleted, you’ll produce less leptin (the body’s primary fat burning hormone) which will slow down your metabolism but once you have that high carb day it will boost your metabolism right back up. However, if you aren’t someone willing to track macros and adjust them frequently this might not be for you.

4️⃣Flexible Dieting – this takes your carbs, fats, and proteins that you track each day. In this method, it doesn’t matter where the macros come from so long as you hit your numbers. This allows you to fit in some foods like donuts, or a burger day to day so long as you hit your calories perfect. This one is my favorite as it allows a lot more variety into your daily diet routine.
