Liverpool news : Liverpool handed fitness boost ahead of Champions League final with Tottenham – EX

Robertson came off at half-time after being caught by Luis Suarez as Liverpool staged one of the greatest comebacks of all time to beat Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate at Anfield on Tuesday night. The left-back had a scan on his right leg yesterday which confirmed no break or ligament damage. Robertson will have further checks today but both the player and Liverpool medical staff are confident there is no serious damage. The 25-year-old is unlikely to be risked for Liverpool’s final game of the season against Wolves on Sunday. That would then give Robertson three to be fit for the Euro showpiece in Madrid on June 1. Scotland will then be looking to Robertson to lead them into the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Cyprus and Belgium. On Wednesday the left-back issued a statement on his condition late last night and is optimistic about his chances of playing in next month’s final. “It doesn’t feel the best at the minute but I’ll get a scan tomorrow,” Robertson told Liverpool’s official website. “They’re confident that it’s just a nerve or whatever and it can be maybe a couple of days, but we’ll wait and see.  “We can’t really comment until I get the scan, but I’ll be saying my prayers tonight.” He also goaded Suarez after his involvement in the injury. “Who’s going to the final? We are. That’s all that matters. Gini went on [for me] and scored two. I don’t care right now,” he said. Trending  “I’ve said so many times this season but what a team. We believe. People wrote us off. “But we believed if we got off to a good start we could do it. “Alisson has pulled off some unbelievable saves. Fingers crossed. “We go to Sunday full of energy. It’s out of our hands but we’ve seen stranger things happen. Especially tonight.”
