The glutes are the most important muscle in golf, that’s why they are commonly referred to as the “King of the Golf Swing”. This set of muscles play a crucial role in power generation, injury prevention, and core stabilization during the golf swing. Unfortunately, due to our daily habits and excessive sitting, our glutes grow weak and our brains quickly lose their ability to engage the muscle when needed (Just ask Tiger Woods!). Thankfully for us, activating and strengthening the glutes is possible with a few key exercises, lots of mindfulness, and lots of patience and practice.
This week I will be showing a test that you can do at home to determine whether your glutes are weak or strong. Additionally, I will show you some of my favorite glute activation exercises guaranteed to help you hit the ball further and reduce your aches and pains!
Test:
Bridge With Leg Extension Test
Exercises:
Deer In The Headlights

Single Leg Glute Bridge
