David Goldman received his bachelor’s degree from Colorado University (Boulder), where he studied psychology, Spanish, kinesiology, and applied physiology. He earned his master’s degree from Teachers College, Columbia University in applied physiology and nutrition as well as the Registered Dietitian credential.
David worked as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for Columbia University Athletics where he coached athletes on movement technique and sports nutrition. He simultaneously taught graduate courses in nutritional biochemistry, physical fitness, weight management, and relaxation.
As Research Coordinator and Exercise Physiologist at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital’s Obesity Research Center, David managed several clinical trials examining topics such as the use of high intensity interval training to improve metabolic inflexibility.
No stranger to tech, David also worked as Director of Research and Education at the cutting-edge photo food journaling company MealLogger. He serves as an advisor to several health and fitness apps and worked most recently at Facebook headquarters. At Facebook, David assisted in the development of a nutrition program and became their first dietitian. He collaborated with chefs, physicians, fitness professionals, and software developers to build out and integrate Facebook’s offerings and improve the health of its 10,000 employees. Also an ACE- and NASM-certified personal trainer, David trained clients in one-on-one and group formats and taught classes on marathon training and ski/snowboard conditioning. He also worked at TrueNorth Health Center in Santa Rosa, California.
