Carly Meiser:
“Carly is a graduate from Western Washington University with a degree in Community Health and is currently certified as a Health Education Specialist. She spent her last summer developing and teaching basic health education to kids and teens in rural areas of Guatemala, as one of her passions is health in the developing world. She currently works for The Hope Heart Institute, a non-profit based in Bellevue. The Hope strives to serve humanity through cardiovascular research and education, serving all individuals at risk of – or affected by – cardiovascular disease. Carly works as the Education and Outreach Assistant where she is involved in many of the women’s, youth, and children’s programs, as well as a number outreach events to promote in the importance of heart health.”
Mary Purdy:
MARY PURDY MS RD is a Registered Dietitian with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Nutrition from Bastyr University in Seattle, WA. She also earned a degree from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in New York City. In addition to her private practice at Seattle Healing Arts, she is a clinical supervisor at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and spent 2 years as an outpatient dietitian at Harborview Hospital. She regularly teaches nutrition workshops and gives wellness presentations all over Seattle. She is currently president of the Greater Seattle Dietetic Association and has written nutrition columns for Seattle PI and Northwest Prime Time. She also spent 8 years on Wall Street helping to conduct diversity and cultural sensitivity training seminars for a number of Fortune 500 companies. Her website is www.NourishingBalance.com
