When playing an instrument like the guitar, being able to control each finger independently is one of the most basic and necessary skills – and also one of the most neglected ones.
I can see why many guitar players don’t work on their finger independence: they think that their hands are clumsy, so they feel bad about it. The more they feel bad, the less they work on it. The less the work on it, the more this becomes a problem, which makes them feel bad!
