Bio: I have been into sports and recreational activities since my mom told us, kids, to get outside and play. I thought it was because she was so nice, but really she wanted to get us away from her. There were 4 of us kiddos. I have an older brother and 2 younger sisters. My parents are the best! They go above and beyond to help others! Seriously, if you ever need help call them and they will! I love to play and compete in anything…ping pong, volleyball, basketball, of course, CROSSFIT, but because of my shoulder I’ve been dabbling my feet at racquetball and I’m not very good yet, but I’ve been playing pretty regularly now. I have had 4 knee surgeries on my left knee. The doctor messed up my meniscus scope initially and I had to get a femoral Osteotomy to fix the issue. It’s been a long road in the surgery department from the ages 17-24 I was rehabbing. I met my husband through my knee issues so that is a major bonus. We have been married for 9 years and we have a beautiful baby boy (Luke).
I began Crossfit at the age of 26 and have loved it ever since! I’m now 31 and have had a major shoulder injury where I tore my lat, Teres major, biceps tendon, and labrum. I did this on July 4 and the games were August 1. I was super bummed I didn’t get to go to the games to compete, but I got to spend some time with my family and I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason! I’m still training daily but trying to defeat this obstacle. My main focus right now is to rehab to fully functioning, but also do movements correctly. I’m excited for the next couple years. I am going to go back to school to complete my RD- registered dietitian. I have my degree in dietetics, but I haven’t completed the internship.
I am an open book and love to learn about other people because people are fascinating! I’m learning to be thankful for every circumstance and every walk of life.
