A Sydney-based personal trainer has divulged how she sculpted the body of her dreams through diet, fitness and a simple routine called N.E.A.T – non-exercise activity thermogenesis.The 27-year-old, who has more than 159,000  followers, shared an honest photo of herself on her Instagram page, Soph Active Life, showing the progression of her body transformation from 2014 to now.On the post, Ms Allen wrote how her now-well toned physique was the result of training consistently as well as following a set actions she said were key in helping her achieve her goal.Ms Allen said she took an unwavering approach to both diet and exercise for maximum results.Tackling the issue of diet head on, the health enthusiast was quick to point out how tracking her food helped her become more aware of the role nutrition played in her transformation.’Once I started focusing on how many calories I was eating & what kind (macros) I saw insane results.’As a personal trainer who works with others wanting to transform their physical appearance, Ms Allen offered this advice in order to get the best results.’There’s no point slogging away at the gym doing the same thing, with the same weights, sets, reps & rest periods,’ she wrote.’Our bodies are incredible at adapting, to a point in which you’ll plateau/won’t see change.’Continue to challenge your body in every aspect for continued success.’While the health expert noted diet and a structured fitness routine were fundamental, she also advocated N.E.A.T.The simple four-letter word is also an acronym for non-exercise activity thermogenesis.Ms Allen explained taking extra opportunities to exercise – in addition to regular workouts – through incidental activities can make a difference.’Activities not involving exercise/sleeping/eating etc ie walking to work, doing the dishes, taking the stairs all add up to extra cals burned in a day,’ she continued.Despite now being able to flaunt a body that’s been through the rigors of training, Ms Allen has previously faced significant challenges to her health.At 21, she went in for day surgery to treat her endometriosis but a complication during the procedure left Ms Allen with a perforated bowel.The condition was life-threatening, and she spent a month bedridden in hospital in intense pain.Initially doctors struggled to find the perforation and were forced to remove Ms Allen’s bowel and place it underwater so air bubbles would indicate where the hole was.’If my surgery had of been left any longer I would have died,’ Ms Allen previously said.Following the experience, she was able to recover and transform her body, and today she is passionate about health and fitness, and continues to share her story as a way to connect with others.’It was a cool way to connect and show other endometriosis sufferers who have been through surgery that they will be fit again,’ she said.
