Pep Guardiola’s side are back in Premier League action against Fulham today as they look to overtake Liverpool at the top of the table. City are two points off the pace but have a game in hand over the Reds going into the weekend. The defending champions have been hampered by injuries in recent weeks but are set to welcome a number of first-team players back to the starting XI following the international break. Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Guardiola said: “Everybody came back fit. “Fernandinho, Kevin [De Bruyne], Vincent [Kompany], everybody is OK.” The Spaniard went on to confirm that Benjamin Mendy is in contention to feature after ongoing knee trouble. “Yep [he is fit]. Of course, he needs time,” said Guardiola. “He trained the last three days and the reaction in his knee is really good. “Except Fabian Delph, the other people is fit. We have 21, 22 players and that’s good, they have to compete with each other to take one place in their position.” John Stones, Aymeric Laporte and Nicolas Otamendi were all injury doubts heading into the weekend but Guardiola’s comments suggest they are all available. Ederson is sure to start in goal against the Cottagers while Kyle Walker will line up at right-back and Mendy should get the nod on the opposite flank. Fernandinho is expected to partner De Bruyne and David Silva in midfield, while Bernardo Silva could push forward in support of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.Manchester City predicted line-up vs Fulham – Premier League (4-3-3): Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy; Fernandinho, De Bruyne, D.
