In this video I’m going to share how I make frozen chicken tenders in my air fryer. It’s a quick and easy dinner idea, and it’s a kid friendly meal. All frozen foods cook differently and so I always start with the package instructions and adjust from there. The air fryer cooks hotter than a regular oven, because it’s a mini convection oven. So you are Air Frying and not Deep Frying. It’s different! With an air fryer, your cooking temperature will always be a littler lower and cook times a little less. You do need to experiment to get the food the way YOU like it! But remember that cooking meats requires a certain internal temperature for it to be safe to eat. So don’t under cook your frozen food! Food safely first.

How I made the Chicken Tenders:

1. I used Breaded Chicken Tenders from Trader Joes.
2. Space out the chicken in the fryer basket. Don’t overlap!
3. Cooking Temperature: 400 degrees F
4. Cooking instructions: Air fry for 8 minutes, pull out the drawer and flip the chicken tenders over, return to air fryer and continue cooking another 11 minutes. So I had a total cook time for 19 minutes. You could simply cook them 10 minutes on each side to simplify, which is what I’ll do the next time I make them.

I spritz using peanut oil which is optional. I personally like it, but you don’t have to add anything extra if you don’t want to. If you want to use something other than peanut oil, select an oil with a high smoke point so it doesn’t burn or make a mess.

Recipe for Copy Cat Chick Fil A Sauce:

* 1/2 cup Mayo
* 2 tsp prepared mustard
* 1 tsp lemon juice
* 2 tbs honey
* 1 tbs smokey BBQ sauce

Instructions
Whisk all ingredients together.
Store unused sauce in a tightly sealed container in the fridge.

You can add a dash of paprika but I haven’t tried it that way. Maybe for the next video!

Get to know me a little better:

Welcome to My Handmade Lifestyle! I’m Patty and I go by Pattymac Knits everywhere online.
Think of me as a really fun High School Home Ec teacher, only we make recipes you’ll want to eat and craft projects you’ll actually want to make. This also includes how to do useful things around the house and how to take care of a small garden or your houseplants. I’m kind of like a Low Fi Martha Stewart.

I publish lots of knitting tutorials here that fill out my self published website and blog. I also love sharing projects that feature pom poms, felt crafts, and simple sewing projects.

I love cooking and baking, so naturally I share my recipes. Generally, I film the stuff I’m actually making for our dinner, so you get to see how I put it together, and how it comes out. Sometimes it’s great, and sometimes it’s not so good. I share my tips and tricks for making yummy food, and how to get it on the table without wearing yourself out. Hello Instant Pot and Air Fryer. How did I cook before you?? The recipe side of this started, because the ladies in my workout group were interested in how I made my steel cut oats. So I made a video to show them, and it took off. So I kept making recipes, and recently decided to make them a regular part of the channel.

This is a family friendly channel, and I appreciate you being mindful of that when commenting. I have younger viewers and moms who watch with their young children, so I like to keep this channel squeaky clean.

I hope you subscribe, and follow me each week as I share projects and food with you. I would love to build a community around living a handmade lifestyle, even if that means using a mix or two to get the goodies baked. It leaves more time for pom poms that way!

xoxo,

Pattymac
