Hafthor Bjornsson is one of the most dominant strongmen in the sport. He is the 2018 #WorldsStrongestMan, a two-time #ArnoldClassicStrongman champion, and follows the #VerticalDiet developed by his nutrition coach, #StanEfferding.

We decided, as two average guys whose combined body weight is still not equivalent to Bjornsson’s, that we had to attempt to eat what Bjornsson eats during his training diet for a single day. That’s nearly 8,000 calories, which you might say is just a tad more than either of us are used to.

In this video, aside from gorging on an obscene amount of food, we also discuss the unique parts of Bjornsson’s diet. For example, we touch on topics such as the addition of #dextrose for better digestion and the macro breakdown of each meal.

Ultimately, eating what Bjornsson eats was more difficult than we expected. We would highly recommend consulting a nutritionist and scaling your diet appropriately rather than doing what we did, which was not smart. But it was immensely educational in helping to understand how and why strongmen eat like they do and the science that supports it.
