Insights into the Rock’s training and diet in preparation to play the role of Luke Hobb’s, in the Fast and Furious spin-off movie Hobbs and Shaw.
This video shows The Rock’s approach to training, and the 18 week intensive plan he created with strength and conditioning coach Dave Rienzi. The result was arguably the best condition we’ve seen The Rock in, at a lean 260 lbs / 120 kg. The plan had to work around The Rock’s existing filming obligations, press tours, travel and much more.
Alongside the training, there was a high 6,000 calorie per day diet plan to fuel recovery and performance. This included cheat meals, which have changed from pancakes to sushi and cookies, and strategies for looking leaner on set with carb depletion phases.
