FT. WRIGHT, Ky. (WKRC) – If your New Year’s resolution to get fit is already getting tougher, maybe you need a change in strategy.
When the effort to get outside or to a fitness facility isn’t working out for you, have a backup plan. The team at Atlas Fitness in Ft. Wright says getting some home-gym equipment can help you stick to the plan without breaking the budget.
“People ask me all the time: What’s the best piece of equipment for me to lose weight? And my answer is 100% all the time: The one that you will use,” said Joe Lawrie of Atlas Fitness.
Lawrie has been selling fitness equipment to major gyms and workout chains for years. When they trade up, he sells the ones he’s serviced for home use at a fraction of the price.
“I can sell you a treadmill that costs $13,000 new for $2,000,” he said.
The benefit, however, isn’t just in the buy — it’s in the convenience.
“You know, there’s no commute for home fitness,” said Lawrie.
There’s also a lot of variety nowadays, so you can find something that best suits you.
What also works when you buy for home use is asking a few key questions, including: How old is it? How has it been maintained? Who will maintain it for you? Was it designed for commercial or home use?
“The products that are commercially made are designed to go 12 hours a day, seven days a week in a full commercial environment. The stuff that you might buy for home is designed to go less than two to three hours a week,” said Lawrie.
Atlas Fitness does have limited showroom hours, but you can call 859-760-7000 for more information. They will also help with special medical and training needs, meaning they will keep your name and if a piece of equipment you need becomes available, they will hold it for you and let you know about it.
