In this video Coach DZ, diet and fitness coach, from RealDietandFitness.net discusses the importance of diet vs the impact of exercise on your weight loss journey.
First an observation. Look out at the gym that you go to and you will notice two things. First off, many people that are trying to lose weight are strictly on cardio machines and it is almost a complete waste of time. While cardio will improve your overall health, it has minimal effect on weight loss, unless
The second observation… most folks are doing the cardio way to easy. To lose weight you must put your body into a state of “after burn” that being you burn calories long after the workout is over. For that on cardio, you must have a very intense level of effort. Strength training does that. Look no further than body builders. They do almost zero cardio and they are very lean.
Now, even if all of that is in place correctly you can blow it with your food. There’s an old saying… “six pack abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym” How true. As a Diet and Fitness coach I spend most of my coaching on diet. Now I do not ever want to say the exercise can just be ignored. But your success with weight loss will be 70% diet and 30% exercise. Almost every personal trainer will only focus on exercise and offer zero coaching for the food side of the fence. I know this does not work, just look at the clients or possibly your own lack of results with a personal trainer.
As a personal coach I provide weight loss advice that is customized plans for both diet and exercise. When my clients follow the advice they get the results. Heck, you can even skip a day of exercise and not feel guilty if the food plan is adhered to.
