Defranco Fitness Tips: How to Use Mobility Resistance Bands

Today I’m going to talk about Onnit’s new mobility resistance band. Anybody who knows anything about me or my training, knows that resistance bands are a huge component of our total programming and these mobility resistance bands are a great way for two things:

A great way for you to improve your mobility and your flexibility.
Help you with extra recovery type of workouts.

Use Mobility Resistance Bands for Increasing Flexibility

These mobility resistance bands are great for stretching any muscle, upper and lower body, or any tissue that’s feeling tight. Mobility resistance bands are great for helping you to get into proper positions when you’re trying to stretch and increase that range of motion. You can mobilize any muscle or joint, using these mobility resistance bands much better than just performing some static stretching on your own without any implements.

Use Mobility Resistance Bands for Recovery

Besides just the mobility component, you can use these mobility resistance bands for what we call extra workouts. Extra workouts are lower intensity workouts used in between your high-intensity workout. A better way to recover from the intense training sessions is to actually do something.

You don’t just want to sit on the couch and do absolutely nothing your body has a tendency to tighten up. You start getting some pain low back pain joint stiffness so we perform these lower intensity workouts and using these bands is a great way to help you recover from those tougher sessions, to get ready for the next session.
