She’s the global fitness star who was named at number three in the Fitness Influencer category by Forbes earlier this year.And now, having documented her entire pregnancy on social media to her millions of followers, Emily Skye has given birth.The Gold Coast-based fitness personality gave birth to a gorgeous baby girl on December 18, giving her bundle of joy a sweetly feminine name: Mia Elise.She posted on her Instagram profile: ‘So happy to finally meet my gorgeous girl Mia Elise Redmond born on Dec 18th at 11.53am weighing 7lb 7oz (3.5kg).’The glowing new mum and her bub wore matching floral outfits as she held her baby daughter and posed for the camera.Emily told her 2.2 million followers that she and her partner Declan Redmond were having ‘constant love explosions’.New dad Declan also shared the news to his Instagram, captioning the photo: ‘The two loves of my life.’Emily has documented the entirety of her pregnancy online, gathering praise from her followers thanks to her honest approach to how her body has changed.At one stage, the 32-year-old shared raw snaps of her changing body and ‘cellulite’, writing towards the start of her journey:’Since becoming pregnant I have gained some fat and cellulite and I’ve lost a fair bit of muscle – which I’m completely fine with.’She gave birth at a gruelling 40-weeks after telling her fans she was more than ready to finally meet her baby.More recently in her pregnancy, Emily has commented on how uncomfortable carrying her baby has been, even though she has been looking forward to giving birth:’My pregnancy hasn’t really gone to plan as far as my fitness is concerned,’ she posted on Instagram towards the end of last month.’I thought I’d be able to keep up with my exercise until the end of my pregnancy, but that did NOT happen haha.’Due to a long term back problem and sciatica I haven’t been able to exercise for the past two months as I was just too uncomfortable and it was starting to make my back and sciatica worse.’I made the choice to listen to my body and stop. It’s only short term inactivity and there’s always time to get my fitness back later.’Emily Skye’s birth comes just before Christmas, which will see the 32-year-old relax with her young family.In early December, Emily set some ‘fitness goals for next year’ on her Instagram profile, which include doing ‘some rehab work to get my body working well again after carrying my baby’.She explained her back has taken a hit throughout the pregnancy:’I struggle to stand and walk around the house, I was in tears last night because I couldn’t get comfortable in bed without it hurting.”I’m looking forward to correcting my posture and imbalances, strengthening my pelvic floor, core and glutes, and of course building some muscle back.’The 32-year-old plans to launch her new FIT programme as soon as ‘she gets the all clear from my doc’.To follow Emily Skye on Instagram, please click here.
