SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN ANNOUNCES AN ADVISORY BOARD OF PROMINENT MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS SUPERVISING THE RECENTLY LAUNCHED SCHOOL FITNESS PROGRAM

New York, NY – May 2012 – Michael Gonzalez-Wallace’s revolutionary fitness program, “SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN” is announcing a new advisory board featuring several experts in diverse fields. This advisory board includes Dr. John Martin, a Ph. D in neuropsychology from City College NYC; Dr. Greg Lombardo MD, Ph. D, an expert in child psychiatry; Laura Corby, a national speaker on autism and founder/CEO of the Autism Solution Center; Maria Dorfner, an award-winning medical reporter; and Olinka Podany, a clinical nutritionist.
“SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN” –School program
The program is in talks with several principals in New York City to be implemented for the new academic year. The individualized program for schools will include a curriculum consisting of over 60 different exercises structured in 4 progressive stages throughout the school year. It can benefit children 5 years and older. By continuously teasing the body with balance and coordination challenges, the program simultaneously stimulates the brain, muscles and nervous system. Eventually, the intent is to implement the program nationwide.
According to Dr. Lombardo, who is board certified in adult, child and adolescent psychiatry and is a diplomate of the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology, “Gonzalez-Wallace’s “SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN” program may produce benefits in several critical areas in children’s development including: motor skills, psychiatric benefits, academic function and cardiovascular benefits.”
SCHOOLS’ TREND TO REDUCE HOURS DEDICATED TO PHYSICAL EXERCISE HAS CONSEQUENCES
The increase of diabetes type 2 in children is correlated to a progressive reduction in the number of hours dedicated to physical exercises in schools.
Therefore, just like there are specific programs and curricula for math and science we must implement specific programs and curricula for Physical Education. Simply having students play soccer or run around the field has been shown to be ineffective in fighting this current health crisis. The program needs to benefit students individually.
Example of some movements of the “SUPER BODY, SUPER BRAIN” Program

The process of performing specific exercises such as raising arms and heels simultaneously will require over 30 muscles to be involved with the movement leading to a gradual increase of the cardiovascular system. Studies have shown that aerobic exercise is beneficial with children in the pre-diabetes stage
