The 2019-20 NBA season is less than a month away and the Los Angeles Lakers are primed to make a run at an NBA Championship. The Lakers traded for Anthony Davis to pair with LeBron James, but could the Lakers add another big piece? As of now, the roster is currently full, but don’t be surprised if the Lakers made a big trade before or during the upcoming season. Lakers Report host Hannah Kulik explores five players the Lakers could trade for during the 2019-20 NBA season!
Wizards guard Bradley Beal is constantly linked to trade rumors and he would be a perfect fit on the Lakers. He would provide much need shooting and spacing next to LeBron and Anthony Davis. The problem for the Lakers is they have very few assets and no draft picks in next year’s NBA Draft. Could trading for D’Angelo Russell be more realistic? The Lakers were interested in bringing Russell back before the Nets sent him to Golden State. Maybe he becomes a trade option once Klay Thompson gets healthy. CJ McCollum is a player that would also provide some shooting and ball-handling, both of which the Lakers need. In the past, Portland has debated trading CJ, but would they move him after a breakthrough to the Western Conference Finals?

Andre Iguodala is the most realistic player the Lakers could trade for. He’s the cheapest and he wants to be in LA. Memphis is holding firm as they refuse to release Iggy, but maybe the Lakers decide to pull the trigger on a trade. If not Iggy, could the Lakers reunite Kevin Love and LeBron James? Love would be an ideal stretch-5 on this Lakers team and could allow Anthony Davis to play the 4. The biggest problem with Love is his 4-year, $120 million dollar contract.
